Dulcie and Jeremy were married at Saint Ignatius and then partied the night away at the Stirling Mansion. Devon and I arrived to photograph the guys and gals getting ready. The Stirling is an amazing place to photograph with natural window light while the bride get's ready! After spending some time with each of the parties we headed over to the church to photograph the ceremony, which is always one of my favorite parts of the wedding day!

At the Stirling we wandered around the grounds and found some great photo backdrops. Check out Dulcie's dress....AMAZING!!!!

Sarah and Doug - Reading, PA

My friend Sarah got married - yippee! And of course it had to rain...surprise! There was a lot of hustle and bustle when my awesome assistant and I arrived at the church. We surveyed the area and jumped into the picture taking. The ceremony was beautiful! After the ceremony we took family photos at the church and then made a split second decision to move the outdoor photos to my favorite place - the GoggleWorks! We had about T-minus 10 minutes to knock out bridal party photos and photos of just Sarah and Doug. Talk about a time crunch....but!!! we got it done and headed over to the Inn at Reading for the reception. Wooweeeee what a day. So, fun!!!

Michelle and Sal - Reading, PA

Whenever the bride gets into her dress it is always a production. The hair and makeup have to stay perfect! Then comes the lacing of the corset or the dreaded zipper - always a question of, 'yikes, is it going to fit!' Well, Michelle slipped beautifully into her dress and her mother and bridesmaids zipper her up. Then Michelle glanced at the bed and noticed a satin string that had been forgotten. Michelle insisted that it needed to be used in tying up the dress - bridesmaids and mom - weren't so sure. Only way to confirm? Call the dress store of course! So, I decided to document the moment - Michelle holding her phone on speaker while the dress shop walked mom and bridesmaids through the 'missing satin string.' Alas, the string was secure and the dress was on and off we went to St. Ignatius in Sinking Springs, PA.

The ceremony was beautiful and the priest gave an awesome homily. As my stellar assistant, Devon and I caught eachother's glance from across the room he gave me a, 'Heidi look outside look.' So, I did. And it was pouring. This was a game changer when it came to taking the formal photos. I thought fast and decided on the GoggleWorks of course. We were able to take tons of photos at the GoggleWorks and thanks to Devon a few 'fun' ones with the bridal party for Michelle and Sal thanks to the bridal party and Devon's sneakiness (check out the linebackers below).

Reception was at the Abe Lincoln downtown and had Michelle and Sal's teaching touches - green apples, apple martinis, erasers with their initials, pencils and each table was labelled by a school class. Very creative! Enjoy the snaps!

Chuck and Cara - Reading, PA

As I opened the door to the girls 'getting ready' room I heard giggling and the excitement from Cara's voice. Chuck had sent her flowers with a card and she was beside herself. Guys, let me tell you a secret - your lovely bride will LOVE this gesture. I have seen it many times and it always brings awes and sometimes tears. Take a hint, write a card or get your love some flowers :)

The ceremony was at Atonement church in Wyomissing, PA and the reception was at the GoggleWorks in Reading, PA. The reception was dotted with green and white lanterns and cafe lights. Chuck is a budding brew master, so their party favor was a home brewed bottle of beer. How cool is that!?

Cara and Chuck wanted 'industrial looking' photos and boy oh boy did they get them. My studio is located at the GoggleWorks, so I always jump on an opportunity to photograph at that location. Ok, just going to throw this out there - how GLAMOROUS does Cara look in the lead off photo!? Enjoy!

Wedding season is in full swing! I recently photographed Monalisa and Seth in Boyertown, PA. They had a beautiful outdoor wedding. Also, this past weekend I had a one-two punch wedding weekend. Friday I was in Lancaster City photographing Suzanne and James. Their ceremony was held at "Lords House of Prayer" and their reception was at "Mulberry Art Studio." We had a blast wandering around the city. Then Saturday I was photographing Meghan and Eric at Albright College and "Reading Art Works" both in Reading, PA. Time to edit loads and loads of photos :)

So, we braved the 97 degree weather and "got to know" Sarah and Doug. Well, I already know Sarah - so, we just had a fun time walking around the park (trying not to melt) taking pics. Even though it was so hot and humid Sarah and Doug looked great. I told them it was a 'warm up' for their August wedding. hahaha, no pun intended :)

I photographed Suzanne and James a few weeks ago - but only a week before their wedding! James came over from England at the end of May and we had time to squeeze in an engagement session. We wandered around the city of Lancaster having a blast! They are so cute!!!

So, I already know Kelly. She and I go way back to high school age. Kelly was a stellar goalie on the high school soccer team. Awesome. Today I got to meet Steve. He was hilarious from the beginning. We photographed at Valley Forge, may have broken a rule (but it was so worth it for the perfect shot) :) played around in the grass, laughed a lot and had an overall great time. Can't wait for their wedding in October.

One extremely rainy day, one tornado warning, and one moment of feeling like we were in the movie twister - here is a peek at the amazing married couple Caitlin and Ethan. The wedding was what my assistant and I call a 'one stop shop.' The ceremony and reception all took place at Riverdale Manor in Lancaster, PA. It poured buckets all day - but Caitlin and Ethan didn't seem bothered by the weather.

People are constantly asking me what is my favorite part of a wedding. Easy, the first time the groom gets a glance at his bride. Hands down my favorite part of the day. As a photographer I am with the bride for some really special moments. Caitlin and Ethan's wedding was no different - I got to be in the room when they got their first glance at each other all dolled up for the day. (yes, sometimes I FEEL like I might shed a tear - but no worries, I keep it together :)

I could go on and on about what I love about weddings - but, I think I will share some photos instead.

This was so much fun! I photographed the twins around the park and then the last few frames they were put in their pink birthday dresses and given a cake to eat - GENIUS! By the end of the session there was frosting everywhere - hair, feet, hands, clothes, cameras, bags, grass = fun.

About a week ago I photographed a 100 year old birthday party. It was a great time - one of my favorite parts was when the family was showing a memory scrap book to the guest of honor. I snapped a photo of the baby making a silly face. The brothers holding their little sister's hand is a sweet moment that I captured in the middle of a hot day when the kids were done with taking photos. And the last photo was caught purely by playing.

Yesterday afternoon I photographed back to school fashions - and boy was it hot outside! A sizzling 94 degrees and a playground filled with little kiddies - Anybody who has kids or has photographed kids knows that you have a short window of time before it all starts to go downhill :) I worked fast and I am pretty happy with the results. Then we moved inside to photograph the tweens and teens. Those photos to follow later.

Summer is flying by and before we know it fall will be all around us :) I recently photographed three children down at the local park. These kids had so much energy! I seemed to be chasing them all over. When it was all over and done with I was happy with the photos.

It's Spring!

Spring is in the air! Well, sorta...minus the crazy snow sprinkle that we had over the weekend. Time to break out your spring outfits, and if you have little girls, spring dresses - and you can get your handmade hairbows from my sister at www.caryhairbows.com :)

I was able to photograph at two yummy restaurants on the main line last week. Photos to come soon...

This week I plan to break out the old Bronica. It's always fun to dabble in film again. I will also post those pictures once they are scanned in.

Helloooo Heidi!

I don't even know how to thank you for such a WONDERFUL experience the day of our wedding. First off, you were so incredibly kind and friendly that you immediately put me and all of my friends/family in the dressing room at ease. You walked this amazing line of fitting in like we'd known you for years and sort of blending into the background to really get the intimate shots. I don't know how you do it :)

Then, when it came time to do the "formal" family photos you were sweet to all the members of the families AND, you were totally right: we did knock those photos out super fast. I was so happy that we had enough time to do all those photos at the GoggleWorks. Chuck and I got to the party right on time. I adore punctuality!

On top of putting me at ease in the dressing room and whizzing through the formal stuff, you also made me feel beautiful and made Chuck feel handsome and dapper with those first pictures you posted. I can't even believe that some of those photos are me, but I am just THRILLED at how they turned out. Chuck is a little obsessed with the photo of him and his groomsmen. I can't wait to see more! We have gotten so many compliments. I just tell everybody, "HEIDI E REUTER PHOTOGRAPHY! Become a Facebook fan NOW!!!!"

Honestly, I don't know why anyone getting married in southeastern/south central PA would ever use any other photographer.

I took two photography classes PH1007 How to Operate Your Digital Camera and PH1014 How to Capture the Picture You Want, both with Heidi Reuter. The class sizes were small which was great, and the price was more than fair. Already applying the new skills to my photography, and seeing an improvement. Amy
